The Green Corps is an eight-week summer youth employment program focusing on offering Detroit youth rewarding summer employment that provides a solid education in green jobs, civil and environmental engineering, and an understanding of philanthropy. Crew members have the opportunity to complete projects, learn valuable job skills, individual responsibility, and youth leadership while nurturing greening projects and maintaining trees.
Green Corps youth will work in teams on a variety of different projects, while also maintaining trees in Detroit city parks and neighborhood green spaces . Green Corps members will attend weekly Environmental Education field trips, soft-skill training and out door recreation activities.
