DAPCEP is pleased to announce the 2012 Changing the Odds for Retention in Education (CORE) SummerProgram for students who were in 6th, 7th, and 8thgrades during the 2011-2012 school year. The CORE Program is a collaborative effort between Big Brother BigSisters of Metro Detroit, Detroit Public Schools, and DAPCEP. We have been diligently planning for the exceptionalsummer experience for your child. Wehope you will join us in the great experience.
The 2012 CORE Summer Program will offer explorations in Amusement ParkPhysics. We will study the science andmath involved in the construction and operation of amusement park rides. The final class will be held at Cedar PointAmusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio.

There will be a mandatory parentorientation Saturday, August 11, 2012, 10 AM to Noon at Youthville-Detroit. All students must complete the enclosedapplication and bring it to orientation, along with a copy of the student’smost recent report card and a copy of their birth certificate.
PROGRAM COST: FREE! Programand lunch provided to the students at no cost.
